Melaka Trip- Part 1

Recently went to Melaka for a 3 days 2 night trip starting 6/12 - 8/12 with a bunch of awesome FIA friends: Hock Kuan, Denesh, Zhi Sum, Su Ann, Hey Herng and Siew Ming. The following will describe about the activities throughout the stay in Melaka in 3 different parts, each part describes the activities for one day.

Started the journey to Melaka at 8am, I was supposed to meet up with HH, SA and SM at Sunway at 8 to car-pool HK's car to the destination. Unfortunenately, I was late due to my too-safety driving skills (sorry la, SM, I haven't reach pro stage! XD).

The early 2 hours drive to Melaka, particularly to Sunny's house was quite normal, with nothing special happened. But once we stepped into Melaka, the real fun came in. According to a statistics revealed by HH, SA and SM, after the toll entering Melaka, we actually passed 14 traffic lights (Melaka people LOVE traffic lights), saw 5 weddings cars and 1 miserable chicken before we reached Sunny house. Denesh and ZS reached Sunny house 20 minutes later after fetched by his parents at Melaka Sentral. I still remember the call Sunny's parents made to him for confirmation: "Are your friends one Indian one Chinese?"

After reaching, went to a nearby shop to eat "Fish Paste-Yong Tau Fu Mee" We ordered separately but end out having 3 large plates of food placed in front of us other than the individual mee....What a filling 'BRUNCH'!

Then, we went to Mahkota Parade and Dataran Pahlawan for some very very fast window shopping. Since we are way ahead of our schedule, Sunny brought us to a Karaoke session at a KTV situation at The Jetty. THe lesson I learned here is: DO NOT go near ZS when he sings 'Seasons in the Sun' and 'Halo', especially the chorus part.....Funnily enough, we went back to Mahkota to treat ourselves for Cendol! I was the odd one out ordering Lin Chee Kang instead of Cendol ( too thirsty that time.....XD) Wow, the first time I drank Extra-SWEET Lin Chee Kang.

Later at evening, Sunny's parents brought us for a dinner session by having Ikan Bakar and other seafood at a restaurant near the river (I dun quite remember the name). The seafood was goodm but the epic one was the Kangkung ----spicy and explosive in the mouth. Notable good food: Ikan Bakar and the Padan-wrapped chicken.

After the Dinner session, went to the infamous Jonker Street. Saw stalls just like the Pasar Malam. Notable features here are the stage put up for the events, particularly singing ones. We had sticks of fruits soaked in melted sugar and the Taiwanese Pearl bubble tea (but this time with frog balls!) These frog balls eventually turned out to be ZS's favourite!

Lastly, ended our night by visiting the Eye on Malaysia at 11.30pm. The fare is relatively cheap of RM 8 (conditions: Malaysian student) . We managed to spun for 6 rounds on the ride. The starting was quite scary, especially the top part, since I personally have height-phobia. But later it was okay.....After the 3rd round, it was kinda nothing else to be seen. However stepping out of the ride, the scenery was nice with the Eye on Malaysia as the background.

A tiring day indeed.....
