Treasure Freedom

It's been 2 weeks since I last blog, probably due to a routine life that does not worth sharing. But in conjunction with Malaysia's 53rd Independence Day, as a Malaysian, today is really a day worth rejoicing.

The scent of independence may seem to be fading with each passing generation, in fact, I was beginning to wonder is Independence day just merely a blessing for all because we all can enjoy another break day? However, there are times when I wonder, long before we achieved the status of independence, we are still in a state of chaos, with wars and fights fill up every corner of this nation. In midst of enjoying a break day during Merdeka, why don't have this thought in mind, 50-70 years ago, probably we have to live in fear, fear of hunger, fear of war, fear of losing the ones we love, fear of the prospect of having a bomb drop right on you. In comparison with what we are now, it is better to be grateful of what we have now.

There are times we may find flaws within our nation, flaws that we couldn't stand that we keep condemning and looking for other countries for comparison. Whenever we lose a match in badminton, we may put the blame on the players, blaming them for not playing at their best. But when we win a match, praises are so scarce that we might refer the victory as a sign of luck due to a lost in form by another team. You may rephrase it in such a manner: Players win because the opponent is weaker, not because our homegrown players' skills.

Yes, we may have flaws in areas that desperately need improvement. But do think twice before start to pull in other countries and point out their good parts. They also have their own disadvantages in certain aspects. It would be unfair to mar all our nation's good points by overshadowing them with the bad ones. Think it in such manner: Do other nations have mamak stalls that allow you and your friends to gather and yum cha? Do you have to face with the terrorizing force of nature in the form of earthquake and Volcano eruption in you are in Malaysia?

Yeah, you may have better points at counter-attacking mine. But in my opinion, nothing beats home. Ask those working or studying in other nations, you'll get the point. Where would you call home if not Malaysia?

To all Malaysians,

Happy Independence Day

Air Penguins

If the title seem familiar to you, yes, then I guess you're a Madagascar fan, well, initially I really don't fancy about Madagascar, I thought it was just another ordinary animation, with the "WE LIKE TO MOVE IT" craze, well, the storyline and the lines do prove me wrong. You all may have thought, what Madagascar? You mean the aged old animation that happens like century away? Oh yes, I'm talking about that Madagascar series, but I'm not a movie critic, I won't be commenting about the movie here....XD

Upon seeing another Nth replay of the Madagascar 2 on HBO (yes, they seemed to be out of movies), I just couldn't help myself but to admire the very organised bunch of penguins led by Skipper. They showed how powerful can a group be, even if they're were like pint-sized dudes.

As the title suggests, the penguins take the spotlight. Loved their lines throughout the franchise.

"Hello everyone, this is your captain speaking. I have a good news and a bad news. The good news is, we're landing immediately; the bad news is, we're crash landing. Although we know you don't have a choice, we still have to say..... thank you for flying Air Penguins"

"Now, who say penguins can't fly?"
